Born in 1963 in Sukhia Pokhari, a small village in Darjeeling, West Bengal, Premlata Agarwal's father Ramavatar was a businessman. His studies were like normal children and his early life was also very simple. Even during his school days, he did not participate in certain sports except running. She was married at a very young age to Vimal Aggarwal, a journalist by profession, after just completing her higher secondary education. After marriage, Premlata came to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. Premlata Aggarwal, the mother of two children, used to fulfill her domestic responsibilities also well. One day when she went to the sports complex with her younger daughter, she came to know about a trekking program organized by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation. Seeing that poster, Premlata thought of participating in it too. The spirit of doing something started growing in his mind too. After which he participated in this program and got third place among 500 people.
Bachendri Pal showed the way to success,
A turning point in the life of Premlata Agarwal, who finished third in her very first competition, came when she saw the many pictures of the great mountaineer Bachendri Pal, which she had taken while mountaineering. Seeing these pictures, Premlata was so impressed that she decided that she would involve her daughter in adventure sports. After this she went straight to Bachendri Pal's office and talked to him about it. After listening to Premlata's words, Bachendri Pal told her that instead of your daughter, why don't you join it yourself. Impressed by his words, Premlata completed the basic mountaineering course. After finishing her training, Premlata went to Nepal's Iceland Peak in 2004 with Bachendri Pal as part of her first expedition. After this in 2008, he trekked South Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro. Gradually mountaineering became her passion and she became very good at it too.
